STATEMENT: I have lived and worked in the South since 1993, first in Florida, subsequently at my current home in South Carolina. Although my work has consistently used metaphor as a pictorial device, the quality of southern light, compared to that of New England, has had a major impact on my palette. Life in the South has also presented better opportunities to exhibit my work and to achieve some measure of recognition.
