Madeleine Hamilton attributes her vivid color palette and various artistic subjects to seeing and experiencing many different parts of the world. She is a southern girl at heart; she and her Italian family, who traveled across the ocean in the 1900’s, are proud of their southern roots in the Mississippi Delta. Madeleine was born in Jackson, Mississippi in 1984 and has lived in several places across the country and globe. She grew up in Rochester, MN and Neenah, WI, but considers New Orleans, LA her home town.
Madeleine graduated from The University of Southern Mississippi with honors and a Bachelor’s in Nutrition and Food System Management. She completed her Dietetic Internship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN and practices medical nutrition therapy as a Registered Dietitian. Madeleine finds the greatest joy and sense of achievement when painting, more than any other work she may do.
Madeleine currently resides in McMinnville, TN on one of the many beautiful plant nurseries in the small town. The green pastures, wild flowers, lazy cows, and colorful barns are inspirations as well as reminders – reminders to take it slow, treasure the day, and cherish the beauty in the simple things. All which create the optimal atmosphere to paint, in Madeleine’s opinion.
